The June 2010 issue of Money (Magazine) has an article on job hunting.  The Library has this magazine in it's collection.

On February 1, 2010 the Library introduced a new online resource for those that are unemployed, underemployed or considering a change in career.  For more information click here or ask at the Reference Desk.
This new service is funded for one year by the Friends of the Southwick Public Library.

The Library subscribes to a web based resource called Learning Express.  This resource is invaluable to those looking for a new job.  For more information speak to a staff member at the Reference Desk. 

The Friends of the Library have funded the purchase for Library patrons a new product from The Learning Express company a new product to help in conducting job searches, etc.  It became available on February 2010.  Additional information is available at the Library, the February issue of Library Links (the Library newsletter) and this website Click here for more information.

The Southwick Economic Development Commission (EDC) website has links to area organizations, colleges, etc. related to seminars, workshops and other business related events of interest to job seekers and business owners.Click here

The Library now has a subscription to the weekday issues of the New York Times.  This can provide information on businesses, etc.  In addition the 2009-2010 Resource Guide published by BusinessWest is also available.  This publication provides lists of area employers by type of business (e.g., engineering firms, construction contractors, medical facilities, etc.). Since Summer 2009 the Library has had a subscription to BusinessWest.  Back issues of BusinessWest are available online.  The Resource Guide is also available online from either the Library or from home/office.  Click here to access the Resource Guide.  The Library also subscribes to both the Springfield Republican as well as the Sunday Republican. 

In addition to these resources the Library has computers to prepare your resume, search websites and send your resume to perspective employers.  For more information on available resources check with the Reference Desk.
