This is NOT an official website of either the Southwick Public Library or the Town of Southwick.  The purpose of this site is to share information on the resources and activities of the Library.  This site was created and is maintained without public funds or Town staff.

The Library information can be accessed by going to the Town website and click on Library or click here.  This site includes information on upcoming events, the catalog of books and other items in the Library collection, hours of operation, etc.  Due to the limited staffing of the Town this website was started to supplement information on the Library with frequent changes during the month (as needed).

Entering Southwick
Southwick, MA
The "Friends of the Southwick Public Library" is a organization of local residents that provide financial support to the Library through various events conducted during the year. The Friends have donated funds for children's programs at the Library, purchased a computer for the Library as well as a projector and provided for other needs of the Library.

The Friends announced at the October 2008 meeting that they have purchased a subscription to the Monday - Saturday issues of the New York Times for the Library. This is now available for users of the Library.

June 2009 Friends activities:

The Friends June 2009 meeting was held on Wednesday June 10.
  Tentative plans were discussed for the Fall Book Sale in October and the Fishing Tournament in September.  Watch this space or local newspapers for details as they become available.  Discussion was held on ways to support the Library and it's activities.  More details will be in forthcoming issues of Library Links the newsletter published by the Library.  The group plans on having a meeting in August to further plan for these and other upcoming events.

Membership forms for the Friends are available at the Circulation Desk at the Library.  Members of the Friends receive a copy of the Library newsletter by mail and additional copies are available at the Circulation Desk of the Library.

April/May 2009 Friends activities:

The Spring Book Sale was very successful.  Details will be reported at the next Friends meeting.

Fall 2008 the Annual Friends Fall Book Sale

The book sale was held on October 24 and 25 in the Community Room of the Library. The event raised more than $ 1,500 which will be used for future needs of the Library.

Application forms to join the Friends for 2009 are now available at the Circulation Desk at the Library. Members of the Friends can attend the Spring Book Sale prior to the general public. You can join now at the Library or at the Book Sale.
